The Conflict and Environment Observatory (CEOBS), has published a blog post written by Dr Jeanique Pretorius, former SARChI doctoral scholar. The  blog post examines the current legal framework regulating the protection of the environment in non-international armed conflict and considers two options for how it could be strengthened. The blog post is linked to Jeanique’s LLD thesis, entitled ‘The protection of the environment in non-international armed conflict under international treaty law’, which was written under the supervision of Professor Erika de Wet and Professor Jann Kleffner and was completed in 2018.
